BASKET QUILT FINISH

Hello friends! I can't express how much I have appreciated all your well wishes & encouragement. I am slowly getting better. I had a doctor visit yesterday. The x-rays showed that all is going well with the lower spine. I got the staples out. The incision area is still very tender. I no longer need to use the walker. I have graduated to a cane but only if needed. I have been sleeping very poorly. I now have a muscle relaxer that should help with that. I still slept poorly last night until I took a second dose. I then slept from about 5 am to 10 pm. After wearing real clothes yesterday to the doctor, I decided I could handle being dressed again today. Makes me feel like things are getting better.

Seeing the x-rays yesterday made me realize while things hurt so much in the repair area of the spine. I sa
w the screws that went into the spine & the titanium bars bracing the fusion. those aren't tiny screws!

I have a quilt finish to show you. I probably showed the finished quilt top some time last year. I quilted the top before my surgery. I had sewn the machine part of attaching binding on this and another quilt so I would have some mindless hand sewing to do when I was well enough to do it. I know the photo is not in the right place. Sorry about that. I can't sit at the computer much longer and have tried moving it to the correct position with not good success. It just has to go where it is.

Back to the quilt. It is from a set of thirteen patterns by Joined at the Hip. I already gave away the patterns quite some time ago without writing down the name of the patterm. They are no longer on the Joined at the Hip website. My friend, Jeanne, thinks the pattern name is "Baskets & Blooms".

I have started the binding on the second quilt. It is larger and will take longer but time is what I have right now.

I had a pleasant surprise from Judy (Quilting with Ragdolls). She sent me a very nice get well card and a fancy bookmark. I forgot to photograph it. I have to get my husband's help right now for downloading the photos and he is busy. So no photograph. The bookmark has my initial "K" and is bejeweled! Certainly a big step up from a folded piece of paper I have been using lately! Thank you, Judy!

Our weather is beautiful right now. There are French doors a couple feet from the computer. I have them open and the fresh, warm air feels so good. I am afraid to look outside right now. My honey bunny is repairing the screen enclosure over the pool. He is replacing some screen way up high. I told him that he better not fall because I couldn't pick him up or help him. Guess I would have to get a neighbor or call 911. Hope he keeps his balance okay.

Stop by again. I so enjoy hearing from all of you.
