VALENTINE SEWING PARTY PART 2

The Valentine Sewing Party day is nearing an end for me. I finished the stitchery and then had to stop for the day. My knee was protesting and said, "No more". I have not made an official decision on what fabric to use for a border. I found the vintage look Valentine fabric in the sewing room. I just don't know that it is what I want to use. Maybe for the backing. Right now I am leaning towards the big polka dot though the tiny dot fabric is still in the run. I need to wait until I have daylight to make a decision.

I enjoyed paying visits to the participants of the sewing party. I had not visited a few of the blogs before today. Always good to meet someone new that likes quilting. I hope your projects are far along in the sewing process.

I love that vintage fabric- how cute! But I think the big polka dots would be the best border choice. Great work! I hope your knee feels better :) Christine

From the photographs the vintage fabric makes your block soften and blend in. The large dot says oh happy day! The small dot makes the stitchery more prominent. It depends on what you want your stitchery to do or say. They all go well. I would probably choose one of the dots. Good luck deciding!

Oh you stitchery turned out cute! I think I'm with the big dot gals. ;-)

Big polka dots do it for me, Karen.

I vote for the large polkadots, it accents and brightens the stitchery.

The Valentine print takes the focus away from the stitchery and the smaller dot doesn't add anything to it, it's just dull.

Also, can I find out more about your stitchery please? I love it!

I love your stitchery work and the big dot is pretty, I would like the little dot best, I think it would't take away form the redwork, but this is my opinion, it will be pretty both way, some time decision are hard to make. HAPPT STITCHING!

Love the redwork (but you know that, right?) I often use different shades of red but never considered using the variegated. I like the effect. I vote for the big dots!

The red work is so cute. I agree either of the dots would work great for the border. Gotta love dots!

The big dot is more whimsical, but I lean to the conservative, the small dot. Hey, it's only fabric, and it's small. Step out of your comfort zone and try something different! Add a piping (flange) for something different! Very cute stitchery.

Its interesting to see the effect of the big dots verses little dots against the same stitched piece. I think they both look great, so you can lose in either choice you make. Such a cute piece!
