SEW 'N SEW SATURDAY

Yesterday was the monthly gathering of The Sew 'n Sews. I want to share with you our Show 'n Tell. This quilt was made by Tee. I think she called it "Caught In a Riptide". The colors reminded her of her recent beach visit where she got caught in a riptide with a man who couldn't swim. She got herself & him back to shore safely. She had a cute story to tell about the event where the man had been gathering sand dollars. He still had the sand dollars in his hand when he got back to shore and none were broken. A scary event turned out with a good ending.
Next she shared with us a One Patch Wonder quilt. This is the back of the quilt. You can see the focus fabric that she used.
Here you can see the hexagons all pieced together. It makes a very interesting design.
My camera is still giving me fits with blurry pictures. I have to replace the camera and hopefully can do that this coming week. Sorry for the blurry picture of Pat's One Patch Wonder. She is making this quilt as a gift for her niece. The group worked on embroidery projects for something different to do. I think everyone enjoyed it. We also played some quilt type games. Then we all headed into town to eat at The Catfish Place. The restaurant has good Florida style fish & seafood. The group always selects that restaurant for lunch when Vicky hosts the group gathering.

I still need to take new pictures of things I have been working on but want to wait for a new camera.

Come back again soon.

Karen

I absolutely love how she put the fabric on the back of that one! Sure is a fun way to show off what became of it on the front!

Nice touch by putting the focus fabric on the back. Those pesky cameras! Mine is always eating batteries.

riptides are so scary. The quilt is bee-u-tee-ful!
And the OBW's made me get my nose right up to the computer screen! LOVE THEM. I think I may have enough leftover from my own 2nd OBW to make a backing like the first you showed!! :)
