JUNE SEW 'N SEW SATURDAY

Yesterday was a gathering of quilting friends for our monthly fun time. Kenyan was our hostess and she had a very nice project planned for us. I discovered that I did not take a picture of the project. She had some samples made up that I could have photographed. I will show you mine after I get it sewn together. I decided that sewing it at home would be easier and did not make mine up along with everyone else.

Always good to see everyone's Show 'n Tell. Beverly finished her stitchery and turned it into a mini quilt which she is going to donate to her guild miniature quilt auction. That is held at the bi-annual quilt show.
Beverly also had finished a redwork quilt. I must have moved when I took the picture as it isn't real clear. My new camera has been taking good pictures so I figure it is operator error. Beverly made the redwork quilt from free patterns from Pacific Patchwork called "Seasons".
Tee showed us a finished quilt that is beach house blocks & palm trees. Each beach house was made of different fabrics.
Tee also showed us this quilt with rectangles. It reminded me of bamboo only because of her fabric choices. She is going to bind this with an Oriental fabric.
Kenyan has her cat quilt completed. She pieced the cats quite some time ago and added a mouse border. She just recently had it machine quilted. She had it spread out on a frame so I did not get a photo of the whole quilt.

She also made this very pretty quilt with a very Oriental flair.
Kenyan is working on a quilt with a lot of different dresses. Each is decorated in a unique way. The bright green one has fringe on it like a flapper dress. That is the one that sticks in my mind.
After playing, we all went out to lunch at a local restaurant called Too-Jay's. Very good food.

I also visited my daughter afterwards. She had surgery on Tuesday and is home recuperating and doing well.

All in all, it was a busy day and I did not take any time to sew in the evening so nothing else to report for me.

This was post 199. Remember post 200 will have a give-away.

Karen

I enlarged each photo to take a closer look. How absolutely fun is that one with the dresses on manequins? I even had to take a second look at the flapper dress. LOL

You must just love getting together and seeing all the fun creations.
