PROJECT UPDATES

The Accuquilt GO giveaway is still in progress until Saturday, September 25th when the winner will be drawn and announced.  Please go to the previous post and leave a comment there to enter for a chance.  The "GO" giveaway is sponsored by the Accuquilt Company.

Kaaren from "The Painted Quilt" is having a "GO" giveaway and also at "Millie's Quilting".  So take a few minutes to visit their blogs and leave a comment for another chance to win.

I have been busy with the give-away.  I am trying to reply to each person leaving a comment.  Just enough of a reply that they know I have their name in for the drawing.

I want to share a few projects with you that are in the works or completed.  I have more pictures to take of two more projects but the light is not good tonight.  I will share those in another post.

The first picture is of an applique basket block.  This is for a special project and is not for me.  I did the applique while we were on vacation last week.
Next, I added the sheep with the flag blanket to Lori's Wool Crazy pincushion base that is from our round robin.  Her theme is summer.  After I stitched the sheep on, I thought that a blanket on a sheep might not be very summer-like.  But I was thinking patriotic as Lori really likes the patriotic look.  She added the flag as her start to the round robin.  I like the way Lori created the flag using thread for the red stripes and x's for the stars on the flag.  The project is now on its way to Paulette in Canada who is busy deciding what she wants to add.
The last picture is of a wool project I started last fall.  I did not get it completed before Halloween and put it away in the project waiting closet.  A couple of hours of stitching finished it up last evening.  I need to get a hanger for it when I get out to a store.
The pattern I used is called "Gourdy's Gang".  A good Halloween banner.

That's all I have to share at the moment.  Thanks for stopping by for a visit.

Karen

  19. Your applique basket is beautiful and I love all of your wool projects. I'm just itching to try doing some wool work. I've never worked with it and there are just so many projects that have that old fashion appeal that draws me in. I just need to find an LQS that carries a good selection of wool work supplies to help me get started. Yup, after finding your blog (many thanks to Mary of 'Quilt Hollow') and Kaaren Johnston's blog, 'The Painted Quilt' (I think Mary pointed me in that direction too *insert group hug here, LOL), and following along on your RR pin cushions from the very start, I have decided it is time to give it a try. Hugs...

  20. I love your sheep - he's the perfect addition to your pincushion. I've been working on a Wool Crazy wall hanging, too, but put it away for the summer - too much else to do. You're inspiring me to get it back out and finish it!
