"BIRDS IN THE AIR" COMPLETED

"Birds In The Air" is complete.  I intended it to be done last December but I had a problem attempting to hand quilt it.  I tried a new needle and even that was difficult.  It was not enjoyable so I quit.  I used a batting scrap and I don't know the brand.  I set the quilt aside until I could pull out the hand quilting stitches I did manage to get in and get in the mood to machine quilt it.  You can see that I intended to finish it last year by the date in the corner.  I thought about changing it to 2012 but left it as it was.

The pattern was designed by Lori Smith.  She has so many wonderful patterns to choose from.  And I have several of them in the want to do basket.  Do you have any?

Karen

  4. Love this! The quilting looks good. Isn't that frustrating to try and hand quilt through a tough batting?
I do have many Lori Smith patterns, but none of the ones I have are applique, of course. : )

  7. I just love EVERYTHING that Lori Smith has published. This turned out so well! I met her in person at the recent AQS Grand Rapids, MI show, and she is just the nicest, most wonderful person to meet! There's not just one of hers on my Bucket quilt, but SEVERAL! You pieced and appliqued it in 2011...looks accurate to me!

    In stitches,
    Teresa :o)

  9. Karen, it's beautiful. I'm glad you left the date as that is when you worked on it.

I have too many of her creations in the to-do basket....along with a host of others. I'm still trying to find the time to get in my sewing room.
