COMFORT AND JOY SECTION SEVEN

Time for another update on the "Comfort and Joy" quilt.  This is the seventh section with one more to go.
The photo makes the section look a bit crooked but it really isn't.  I am experiencing a lot of knee pain.  It was difficult to get the piece hung on the design wall and to back up to take a picture.  I am having to use a walker to get around.  I have knee replacements in both knees.  I thought for sure something had happened to the one in my right knee.  The pain came on suddenly.  Went away about the third day and then back again a few days later.  I have had x-rays and the hardware in the knee area looks good.  I have had blood work to check for infection though there are no signs of it.  Next will be a bone scan.  I am limping badly.  Getting around in the sewing room is not easy.  Even after a clean-up I did recently.  I was able to complete this section of the quilt because all the fabric was in a basket right next to the area I sew and cut out quilts in. I always sit to do the cutting and preparation of applique parts.  The problem comes if I have to look for fabric on the shelves or need something that isn't right in the work area.  I may not be able to complete the next section of "A Little Porch Time" at the scheduled time because the fabric is not in a basket.  I am trying but it is slow going.

Hope you have a good week and I hope that things improve for me quickly.
Karen

Oh no to hear about your knee pain. That sounds terrible! Hope you'll have your doctor finds out about the cause very soon.

Your new section of Comfort and Joy quilt looks so pretty. I'll be willing to help you to pick the fabrics for your next block if I lived closer to your place. Hope you feel better!

I hope your knee pain resolves soon. I am on my 3rd set of total knees at age 55 and I how disconcerning this level of pain & dysfunction can be. I am hoping that it may be as simple as a sprain or inflammation and will resolve with rest. Your quilt sections are coming along nicely, but maybe you could switch to reading or hand applique until you are able to move without so much pain. Take care & I hope things will improve for you soon.

Karen, I hope you can get answers and relief very soon.
Your section of Comfort and Joy looks great. Isn't it frustrating to be sidelined when you have so much you want to do?

I'm sorry you're struggling with mobility at the moment. I do hope it can be sorted out or it just goes away, very quickly.

Things you don't think about--- how much mobility you need for quilting. I hope you feel better soon. Holiday season is approaching, no time for aches and pains. I do love your block. I have a pattern on my wish list-- A Patchwork Garden by the same designer... You inspire me to work on it.

Karen your block looks awesome! You are so close to done...that's wonderful! Hope they can figure out what's causing your knee pain. You have too many things to do to be sidelined. Take care

I'm sorry to hear about your knee problems. So much depends on being able to move about - looking for the right fabric in the closet, ironing blocks, etc. Sometimes I have to get down on my knees to see fabric on lower shelves. Hope the doctors can fix it and you will be on the mend soon.

This basket with the crow is one of my favorites. I'm glad the materials were close at hand for it but am so sorry to hear of your knee pain and struggles with it. You are in my thoughts often as I enjoy seeing your work so much. Will be keeping you in my prayers for the pain to subside and for the docs to find out what is causing it...and for healing of it. I do hope this trouble passes quickly.

I hope that you're feeling better soon, Karen. Pain of any kind puts such a damper on one's creativity.

I wish I lived closer. I'd do all your running around for you and we could sit and sew all day as well.

Take care of yourself.
