I completed a friendship basket quilt.
The design started with the six inch basket blocks made by a group of people. I wanted to make a quilt using them where it did not end up too large or too small. I played with settings in Electric Quilt. I settled on using an applique medallion center. The applique design is from an Electric Quilt add-on software for Baltimore style blocks. I originally thought I would use blues only for the applique but it seemed a bit dull. So the addition of the red flowers with yellow centers and the green leaves seemed appropriate. A narrow red border next and then the basket block border. I played with the arrangement of the baskets. I kept coming back to the one where the basket handles faced in towards the center of the quilt. I intended to use a wide red border after this but it overwhelmed the basket block border. A more narrow border did the same thing. I decided to leave the quilt as is and use a red binding.
It is nice to have a finish!

And it is even nicer to have a nice finish! : )
I think you made the right choices all around. It looks really good!
And how are you doing?
Really a pretty little quilt! Love the blue baskets!!

It is lovely, Karen. What a great way to finish off the friendship baskets, and your choice of colours really sets it all off nicely.

This is so beautiful, Karen!
It's a breath of fresh air. I have an applique center that I keep trying to surround with enough borders to make a bed quilt. I should probably be content to put on the border then quilt and bind it like you did. Simplicity. . . Nice finish!
Again, you've done it again! It's another beauty made from your hands in record time!
I think your colour choices are excellent. That is a lovely little quilt.
Love it! The baskets are really cute and the center is lovely.
Oh yes, a finish is always a good thing. Your quilt is very pretty. I love medallion quilts and hope to make several in the coming year.

Another beautiful finish!!!
What a lucky friend :-)))
I really like the set on this quilt, Karen. The baskets all facing the center look just right on a medallion quilt, and including the red in the flowers and border was a good choice. Great Job!
Such a lovely quilt and the red does get it just the right amount of pop!!
ANOTHER gorgeous finish! The red is the icing on the cake!! Isn't it fun to play!
