I am on a roll finishing some UFO projects. Quilts that were to the finished flimsy stage and awaiting machine quilting. I finished "Christmas 101". A Nativity design by Jan Patek. I used most of the same fabrics that were used in the sample quilt. They are from the Remembrance line. I did not have all the same exact fabrics so I substituted where needed from stash.
I am working on machine quilting another Christmas quilt that has been to the flimsy stage for about two years. I hope to finish it up tomorrow or the next day.
I attended a Christmas lunch today at a friend's home. She is very much into prim style and it is such a treat to see all her Christmas decorations. There were six of us. All prim style lovers. Besides me, there were two bloggers there that you might know. Carol from Brown Quilts and Lynda Hall from Primitive Pieces by Lynda. Carol took a photo. Maybe she will put it on her blog. We spent some time lamenting about how we have no local or even within a couple hours drive prim style quilt shops. Or even ones that would have a row of prim style fabric.
Time to get some stitching done.
Karen

Your quilt came out beautifully, that is one I will do too, got the pattern for my bday. I love using homespuns on bible pieces, and got some nice ones for my stash, to use in the new pieces.

Another one I'm trying not to covet!!! How did you quilt it?
Gorgeous!! Love the fabrics. How great to spend time with six like-minded friends...maybe you all need to get together and open your own shop!!!
Good for you--lovely Nativity Quilt. I feel a Prim style quilt peeking around the corner....Julierose
I think this is so cute!!
Nothing like chatting with kindred souls:)
Your quilt is lovely, such a nice addition for Christmas. Am sure it will be treasured for many Christmas years.
I share your lament about local prim, quilt, needlework stores, they are disappearing before my very eyes!
Great quilt. I think that reproduction and/or primitive quilt shops are few and far between. I am lucky to have two near by.
I love that quilt, great fabrics. I hope Carol posts the pic, would love to see a picture of you all, what fun.
Yesterday sure was fun! Love your Nativity quilt!
Karen, all your Christmas projects are just so lovely!!! So glad you had a great time with your friends!!
Blessed Holiday Season!
Very nice! Sounds like a fun time with friends. We don't have any LQS with primitives either. We really don't have a LQS... vacuum shops with fabric is more like it!
Another beautiful finish Karen!
It really is hard to find shops that cater to Primitives these days.
At least you have wonderful friends close by to share your love of Primitives!
Seasons Greetings!
Friends, Fabric and Fun, a perfect combination. Your quilt is so lovely for the season.
Un Belen muy bonito. Me encante !!!
Feliz semana
Beautiful finish Karen.
Happy holidays
First, I want to say how much I love your quilt. I'd love to make that one in what else?...wool-on-cotton, of course.
What I want to say is I know exactly how you feel about prim/country decorating in Florida. We lived in south Florida for 15 years and no matter how much I tried to "like" the typical pastel-type life style that IS Florida, I never felt totally comfortable in my own home. It is virtually impossible to find anything prim down there and on line shopping was just getting started in the late 90's early 2000's.
Thank goodness for the internet. Right, Karen? *wink*
A very sweet nativity and I love the warmth of the colors.
That's such a cute pattern, and yours turned out fabulous. Love the combination of colors, and the wonderful big floral border.
I truly love this quilt, Karen...love the nativity story that is told here!! Pretty...hope you can get it done and display it this year!!!
great nativity quilt!
isn't getting together with quilters the best!?
Love "Christmas 101!" What's one more project on the ever growing to do list? It really is precious!
Another beautiful quilt, Karen!
The natvity quilt is lovely. Isn't it fun to see how everybody decorates? We all put our personal twist on Christmas or any hoiday for that matter.
I absolutely LOVE this nativity quilt. I think it is my favorite of the ones I have seen.
How fun to get together with like minded folks!
Love this Christmas quilt. I really like Jan Patek's patterns. Hooray for finishing another UFO project.
