PICKING APPLES AND SALLY POST UPDATE

I finished a block called "Picking Apples".  A fun block to make.
And an update on my Sally Post Floral Quilt blocks.  I met my goal of stitching three for the month of March.  I am still on the hunt for the sashing fabric for the quilt.  I purchased some online and it is too light and too pink.  Dare I try a third time!
We have company for two weeks but they are out sight-seeing today so I have some play time in the sewing room.   Back to play!

I love the picking apples block. I have a photo of my son at the orchard and want to do one of him some day, maybe a whole quilt of folk interpretations of my kids and fun times.

Is that Sally picking apples? I love that block.
I can't wait until our apple trees begin to blossom. Such a lovely spring sight!

I love the fabrics in the picking apples block--the ripply water, and lines of the tree bark--the checked apron and the paisley leaves! So fun!
It is nigh unto impossible to get the "right" color via internet photos, isn't it? Can be maddening. Good luck!

I feel like we haven't chatted in forever. Love this block. Your appliqué skills haven't waivered with the 'time out'.

Super cute! You know, you are going to have to find a sashing fabric in real life... unless of course, you want to keep adding pinks to your stash! lol

Darling apple block. Too bad about the on-line fabric not being the proper color.
