Snowman Entusiasm

My DH says it is hard to be enthusiastic about a snowman when it is 80 degrees outside.  My new wall quilt.
Made from a pattern by Jan Patek called "Snow Guys".  I have to say that this pattern was not the easiest to understand.  Some parts you have to add seam allowance and some not.  It was confusing as to which were which.  Thus I ended up having to use a spacer above the snowman hats in order to get those blocks to be as tall as the three pine tree blocks in the center.  Still I am happy with the result.

  1. I think the spacer looks like it belongs. Very cute snow couple!
Your DH can't get enthused about snowmen because it is so warm out. Most of us can't get enthused because we have had our fill of cold and snow!

  2. Un treball molt bonic. Amb els teus grans coneixements de patchwork, has poguit solucionar els petits defectes que hi habia als patrons.
    Molt be !!!!!!

  3. Very cute, Karen! The Snow Guys would fit right in my neck of the woods... 5 inches of snow arrived overnight! Thanks for the heads up about the pattern... it's one of many that is in my pattern basket, but haven't attempted yet.

  7. I'm right there with your DH...we have been in the mid-80s this week and while I don't expect it to be COLD, I would like at least COOL.

Your snow guys are adorable, as usual. The spacer looks just fine...I wouldn't have known it wasn't supposed to be there if you hadn't mentioned it.

  8. Another cute one you have! Did you get some snow a week or two ago? I have a friend who left Iowa for a month to get away from the snow and she took it with her to FL! LOL

  12. Send dh to visit me. We had about 5 inches of snow on Monday, and we're having an ice storm today. It's so beautiful out! But I'm staying in. You can never have too many snowman quilts.

  13. Yes some of her patterns need a bit more instructions but are fairly easy to figure out. Yours looks great!

  14. Ugh... snow here too last night. We are getting quite tired with being cooped up all winter! Spring is going to be very welcome here :o) Nice job on your snowmen!

  15. I think looking at snowmen is a great way to cool down! They are really cute. Jan's pattern directions suck, generally, but they sure are cute.

  16. Love the snowmen. I wish it were 80 degrees here. We are in the middle of a snow storm. It is so bad that at Detroit airport 2 planes are stuck. Oh well...Hugs

  18. Well, if you are doing snowmen, I guess I need to make a sailboat, since it is freezing here, lol. Fun piece and nice that you are getting a head start for next year.
