Summer Glory

Sunflowers!  Definitely a late summer look.  I finally attached the binding to "Summer Glory".  I have added it as my header picture.  This is another of the raw edge monthly series wall hangings by Sarah Sporer that I have been working on.

I received a narrow table runner from Julie of Julie K Quilts.  She often plays with strips of fabric and does creative string quilts.  The runner is the perfect size to fit on the ledge above the fireplace. She quilted it with big stitching which fits my prim style.  A big thank you, Julie!

On vacation, we found an antique shop in southeastern Ohio that was crammed full of Imperial and Fenton art glass.  We purchased a few pieces but also found a toy sewing machine that interested me.  And it came home with me.  A gift from my DH.  It is a Necchi Supernova and has its own little carrying case.

The handle on the case is not in good shape but the latch still works.  I have not decided where its final resting place will be.

I am trying to figure out where I am at on quilt projects and sort through parts and pieces.  Wish me luck.
Karen

  2. Love that raw edged sunflower! I have never heard of a Super Nova machine--but it looks neat! good luck with it. Still need to have my foot pedal looked at! It's like a Corvette--way too fast for me! Maybe a spray of WD40 and a cleaning...DH is going to look at it tomorrow...hugs, Julierose

  10. Your sunflower looks like the ones in my garden. There heads are turned towards the neighbors because of the sun so they look a bit shy from my side. LOL Love the little sewing machine how cute! The table runner is so cute, the variety of stitching she did is perfect!
