Old Voices New Impressions December Update

Two blocks done this month and three to go of the Old Voices blocks.  First is the Open Wreath block.

And second is the Berry Branches block.

I had the blocks done for quite a while.  Had I taken time to review, I would have realized that I would only have two to share for December and I had time I could have stitched two more.

I will set up a link-up if any of you have blocks to share this month.  I know December was a busy month for most people.

I have more to share with you but will save for a separate post.  Happy New Year.  Fifty years ago today, I was holding a new born baby boy.  Our son Bryan.

  10. More beautiful blocks, and you are going to have a beautiful quilt this year.
I started cleaning my room and got overwhelmed, lol. I have to move stuff so I need to figure out what goes where.

  18. I looked all over for this book. My local library even contacted the U of Nebraska for me to see if they'd loan out their copy (the ONLY ONE IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY in the library system). Of course, it's a non-circulating copy (probably because of the quilt study group there). But one of the members of the Baltimore Applique Society (of which I am a member) had it and graciously lent it to me. I'm looking forward to making this one. I think I'll make 6" block and make a wall hanging for my living room. Thanks for the inspiration.

  19. Wonderful applique! I love the color combination of the first block. It is amazing how much you get done! Do you spend a day of prepping blocks so that everything is ready to stitch? Needle turn? Have a wonderful 2016- I am looking forward to seeing more of your work. :)
