Shenandoah Valley Botanical Quilt BlockNine

Sunflowers this time for the Shenandoah Botanical Quilt Sew-Along.

The original block from the antique quilt appears to have used the same yellow fabric for the petals and the center.  I chose to use two with the center being a check fabric.  I thought it would give it a slightly more prim look.

You can see blocks made by other quilters on a special site located here.  Now on to block 10.

  19. Such a beautiful sunny block, the checks for the center are the perfect choice, like the seeded center of a sunflower.
