FOLK ART TRIBUTE PART 2

I have not sewn in two days because of a bad cold.  I mentioned previously that one of our guests came down with a head cold the day after arriving.  My husband was the next to get it followed by me a day later. I seem to have had the worst of the three.  I have had a lot of sinus pain and have gone through many, many tissues.  Lots of coughing.  I stayed in bed most of two days.  This afternoon, the sinus pain went away and I am up and moving though I still have a way to go to say I am on the upside.

Before the misery set in, I finished two more blocks for the Folk Art Tribute quilt.  One twelve inch block and the center 24 inch block.

And a picture of all the completed blocks on the design wall.

I am going to attempt some stitching this evening on the long basket block that goes along the right hand side.  I have part of it stitched already so not a lot left to do.  As I said before, this was a free set of patterns by Dawn Heese but they are no longer free.  She sells a complete pattern on her website.  Many of the patterns are from the Electric Quilt program if you have that software.

Back to blowing my nose and stitching in between.
Karen

Oh! It's turning out so delightful! I love the center block. Chickens seem to be the theme with your new header and the rooster block. You can never go wrong with chickens.

Your quilt is looking good Karen. I have this project all pieced - really need to get it quilted now. Thanks for the reminder! Hope you feel better - I had a bad cold that lasted a good two weeks - so miserable!

Sorry to hear that you've been sick. I think that cold has gone around the country.

Love your new blocks and am glad you were able to get some stitching in.

That is a wonderful quilt and applique, but I really love the banner quilt. Love the simple shirting blocks with mixed fabrics for the appliqués.

I think someone gave me something again, not down, but can't do as much as I usually do, lol. I did get a walk in today, but just a mile and that wore me out.

I am just recovering from my 3rd headcold in 6 months. I feel your pain. Lousy to be sick with guests in your home--well, it's just lousy to be sick!
I'm LOVING your new header quilt! My grandpa was a chicken farmer and I grew up playing on that farm.
Your folk art tribute quilt is really coming along. I especially like the lamb block, and that stately rooster. : )

Very sweet blocks! Hope you get to feeling better. It always feels so 'wrong' to end up with bad cold in the spring.:)

Those are very cool blocks. I love the chicken quilt in the header too! All those chickens running around with the alternate backgrounds makes them look kind of like they are running from block to block (Harry Potter style!) lol Very effective! cheers, Claire W.

That is so funny that you are working on that quilt top. I pulled mine out the other day. All I have to do is the basket block.
