LORI AND RANDY'S SEW-ALONG PLUS BASKET BLOCKS

I added the pinwheel blocks round the medallion center and like the look.  Red, white, and blue.  I didn't get it flat on the design wall so it looks a bit crooked but it really isn't.

I have been a bit restless this past week and not wanting to concentrate on applique blocks.  So I pulled out a neglected basket project and began doing the applique handles.  A bit mindless.  I pieced a few of the blocks together and have several more ready for piecing.  I put them up on the design wall for a picture.  I have not decided how to set the blocks.
I cut the parts from a layer cake and leftovers from a couple quilt projects.  Blackbird Designs"Harvest Home" and "Beach House' fabrics.

I am getting back in the mood for applique so I will be getting back to other projects that are waiting.

I love your R/W/B version of the SAL, Karen. What a great background fabric for a patriotic colored quilt! : )
I don't think I have ever seen double handled baskets. I like that look.

You make my list of must makes longer than it already is. You know I'm a sucker for baskets and only dream of appliqué like yours! Smitten....better than modern styles!

Pinwheels are right up there with nine patches as my favorite. That looks great.

I love the baskets you've been working on as well. Great colors and a great twist on a familiar pattern

Very pretty! Love the Red, white and blue :o) I go through moods of quilting too. Where all I want to do is stitch, then I don't want to even look at it, etc.
