Shenandoah Botanical Update for September

I am late posting a picture of this month's block even though it has been done for at least two months.  I have a flare up in one of my feet and limping badly.  I have not even been sitting in a chair and stitching as I can't find a comfortable position for my leg and foot.  So walking from one end of the house to get the camera and back to the other for a picture and then back to the other end to the computer has been something I did not want to do.  My foot is a bit better today so I hope I am on the upswing.

This month's block is "Seratofolia".  I have never seen a flower like this so know nothing about them.  I do like the shape and was an easy applique block to do.

I am going to try sitting in my chair and stitching today.

This is a beautiful block, so delicate and airy looking. Hope you are really on the mend; it is not fun to be in pain.

Nice contrast with the pink and brown. Pretty little block. Who would ever think you wouldn't be able to sew because your foot hurt? I hope you continue to feel better.

Gorgeous block. I better the real life version of that flower is pretty.

Hope you are feeling better and are able to get some stitching time today.

So sorry to hear of the pain you have been suffering. I hope you truly are on the mend.
I think someone on another blog referred to this flower as a Fuchsia, and that it what it looks like to me. But a google search of Seratofolia doesn't bring up anything that looks like this. Go figure.
Your applique work is beautiful, as always!

I'm sorry you are in such pain, Karen. I hope there's help for it and that your foot improves soon. It's hard to be so uncomfortable even when sitting and miserable not to be able to walk around easily.

Your block looks beautiful, and beautifully stitched, too.

I think Seratofolia is a type of clematis, but these look like fuchsias to me. In any case, your block is lovely! I hope your foot is feeling better soon--take care!

So sorry about your foot. Hope it's better each day. Loved how you interpreted your September block. You didn't even need to know what kind of flower it is. Great job!
