ABC Sampler Update

I don't remember how many updates for the "ABC Sampler there have been but here is the latest.  The "V" block which is for "Victory Garden", the "W" block is a wheel barrow, and the letters XYZ.

I have not sewn the two blocks together as of yet because I need to figure out how wide the wheel barrow block should actually be.  Here is a picture of them side by side.

I have not finished stitching the wool "done by me" letters as of yet but not much left to do.

Lori of Humble Quilts should also have her blocks posted today.  Here is the link.

Happy Stitching!

Pine Tree Ridge

My "Pine Tree Ridge" quilt top is done.  I will be working today on piecing a backing.  I used stash only to make this.  An easy sew.

Part One Pine Tree Ridge

I have been making blocks for a Jan Patek design called "Pine Tree Ridge".  I have all the blocks done.  This afternoon, I put together the top part of the quilt.  I hope to sew the bottom half tomorrow.  Easy stitching.

I added a border to a basket block.  The block design is also by Jan Patek.  I used Liberty Garden fabric for the border.  Jan has used this basket design in more than one of her quilt patterns.

I also stitched a second block for the quilt in Jan Patek's "Garden Spirit" book.

I seem to be in a Jan Patek kind of mode.

Fall Festival Part 4

Another month gone by and time for sharing the house block I made using Jan Patek's "Fall Festival" quilt pattern.  I enjoyed stitching this one.  I think a salt box house is so New England in style and often used in prim style quilts.  I don't know how it would be living in one with slanted ceilings on the backside of the house.

I am linking up  with Lori on Humble Quilts.   I am enjoying the stitch along.

Slow Stitching Sunday

On this Slow Stitching Sunday, I have just completed an applique block for a Jan Patek design found in her "Garden Spirit" book.

I prepped the blocks for the quilt a few years ago.  I don't remember how long ago that was.  I started the applique process and ran into a problem.  The whole quilt project went into a large plastic container in the quilt closet.  I don't remember what the problem was.  I think it was getting the various parts to fit on the block.  I stitched part of the design and then did not have adequate room for the circles and leaves.  Now that I am more skilled with applique stitching, I am going to tackle the quilt blocks again.  I have taken the design elements and traced them onto freezer paper as they will go onto the quilt block.  I will use a light box to trace the design onto the block background so that I know where things go and then stitch.  I am working on several quilt projects so I am not in a hurry to complete the quilt top.  When it gets done, it gets done.  Stop back to check my progress.

I am linking to Kathy's "Slow Stitching Sunday".

ABC Sampler Update

Today, for some unknown reason, I can't get the photos of the blocks to crop like I normally do.  So here they are on the design wall and cropped as best as I could manage.  The Tin Man was an easy block to do.  And I love the "Us" for the letter "U".  I am enjoying making the quilt blocks.

And a picture of the whole section acros which includes from the letter "K" to "U".  Now onto the next row.

Lori has her blocks posted also.

Fall Festival Quilt Month Three

For the Fall Festival quilt, I made the pineapple and basket blocks but no flying geese.  Enjoying the process of selecting the fabrics, prepping and stitching.

Visit Lori's blog to see what other quilters have done.
