Update Number Four Mary Witherwax Quilt

I have more Mary Witherwax blocks to share with you.  I am using mostly French General fabrics and have a lot of reds so many of the blocks feature that color.  I have added in other fabrics that seem to play well with the French General.

The above block is actually oriented in the pattern opposite of the direction I am showing.  After I stitched it, I thought it looked like a pumpkin or squash.  I should re-do the block so the writing is not upside down if I use it in this direction.

All the blocks I have done shown on the design wall.  I spent some time today prepping more blocks as I was down to about 1 1/2 days' stitching left ready.

Enjoy!
Karen

I am amazed at how many blocks you have to share in each post. Some really interesting shapes I've not seen before. Looking really good together on your design wall!

Super darling! I just love the french general as an applique quilt!! I would not have noticed the upside down background if you hadn't mentioned it. Have a lovely weekend.

All of your blocks are wonderful! You get so much stitching done so fast. The little pumpkin block is sweet. You could leave it as a unique touch or if it really bothers you redoing it shouldn't take too long. Enjoy the stitching, That's the best part!

These blocks are beautiful, amazing, and such fun. Some are so simple, some are so inventive, some unusual. And through it all, your stitching and choices of fabrics are perfect, Karen, not to mention your exquisite stitching. I notice that many of the motifs are positioned diagonally on the blocks. Will you set the blocks on point?

What a prolific stitcher you are! A great variety of finished blocks and I particularly like the 4th block down from the top...the way you positioned the fabric to form the bud with its curvy design is so sweet. Great job!!
