Noah and Matilda - My Version

A completed quilt top.  "Noah and Matilda" is approx. 79" square.  I stitched 36 of the 42 patterns and came up with my own setting.  The background fabric has arrived and all will be heading to the local quilt shop for machine quilting.  I don't have anyone to hold it up for a photo so a floor view is best that I can do.

Most of my fabrics are from a variety of Kansas Troubles lines.  My stash of that brand of is pretty much depleted now.

You can see Dawn Ronnigen's pattern here and compare the difference in color and setting.

I have been filling in between other applique with some basket blocks.  I think this is a Blackbird Designs basket shape.  The picture is of some of the blocks.  I have not decided on a setting for them and am not in a hurry to complete the project.  I may not use the red and cream stripe basket block.  The cream stripe part blends into the background too much.

I also completed some flower blocks for the "County Fair" quilt.

Lovely spring weather here!

Karen

That is a gorgeous version of Noah and Matilda. The setting triangles are such a perfect 'setting' for the appliqued blocks. Love it!

Wow! Beautiful quilt top Karen! I have trouble getting photos too, I envy quilters that have opportunities for “glamour shots”.

N & M is just gorgeous. Your setting is so beautiful--love how it enhances to blocks. Those baskets are pretty cute too. I did the Trick or Treat quilt and it took me a long time to applique another basket--lol! How many are you making?

You inspire me to get back to my quilts and do more applique, just need to get my butt in gear.

What a lovely quilt top! I am always in awe of how much applique you seem to be able to finish! I rarely have anyone to hold up a quilt either and if they do, it's a terrible time of day for lighting so why bother? Your flower blocks are the sweetest. Lovely to see signs of spring even if only in quilting.:)
