Spencer Museum Quilt Update

The third block design is done.  I feel like I worked on it for a long time.  The problem was that my first fabric choice for the leaves was too pale for the darker background.  I stitched quite a few of the leaves before deciding it was not making me happy.  I removed them and then cut out more leaves of a darker fabric.  I like this version much better.  I have another block just like this one to make as I am making a nine block quilt.

I haven't stitched my next "Dearest Boy" block and it is due on the 30th.  I have to hop to it!

sometimes we just have to change some things out after we start a block - this is looking good to me.

Well chop chop 😉 (Sarcasm)
And without seeing your first choice, I'd say you nailed it on your color choices for this block. It looks great!

I love your Spencer Museum Quilt block. It's beautiful. I had fits with the next Dearest Boy block. I ended up making an eight pointed star with a pink background. Hugs

Your finished product has great contrast, so I'd say you chose well.
Wow, you didn't leave yourself much breathing room on the "Dearest Boy" block! :)

You were experiencing the same thing I have. Making those changes before you get too far does make it a little easier.

Once again you have made a beautiful block. Sorry you had to change out your leaves.

Beautiful block! I have done that too, on many an occasion. Good thing you changed them before you did them all! I look forward to seeing all your blocks together.

That looks beautiful with the dark leaves, nice contrast with the background.

I love your block. I have this pattern too, and plan to do traditional red & green. I think a Kafee Fasset brights would be cute too, so may do that too.
Right now I'm working on Dear Daughter, a 16 patch hst quilt & an old Blackbird Designs large 9 patch/wide border quilt.... Among many others :) happy sewing!
