Sally Post, Millenium Garden and More

Binding finally on the Sally Post quilt.

We weren't too successful at getting a picture of the Sally Post quilt because of its size so another picture of it spread out on the floor.

Needleturn applique was used and machine quilted by the local quilt shop.

Millenium Garden was finally quilted and bound.  I used Jan Patek's pattern and many of her fabrics.

A picture of the pieced backing.  A good way to use up some stash fabric.

A project on the design board.  I am working on a quilt from Jan Patek's Lady Bird book.

I notice that I forgot to take a picture of the pumpkin blocks for the "Seasons" quilt.  I will share them on the 15th along with the "Dearest Boy" blocks update.

Your Sally Post quilt is beautiful. I like the way you set the blocks so the tops are toward the center and I especially like the width of your sashing. It makes me think of quilts made a century ago (though I doubt there's any reason for me to think sashings were wide in the early 1900s.) Do you know the brand/who made the red fabric?

Your Sally Post finish is wonderful, I love the way you framed your blocks very simply with the wide washings. Nothing steals the show from your lovely applique.

I totally agree, your Sally Post quilt is gorgeous with your beautiful hand applique. Love the colors you chose for the Millennium Garden. The border fabric just ties it altogether. Your pieces backing makes me smile. You just went crazy using up some stash.

The Sally Post quilt is so sweet. I bet it was a joy to make. Jan Patek designs are always in style. This one turned out great. I particularly like the pot block in the lower right corner. What line did you use for this quilt or was it a combination of fabrics? You do lovely work!

Oh Karen! Both are beautiful and I especially love the Sally Post quilt. The pieced back on the Jan Patek quilt is very charming. Those fingers are yours are staying busy!

I was asked what line of fabric I used for the "Millenium Garden" quilt. Mostly it came from the Remembrance line by Jan Patek but I mixed in others fabrics too.

Also, the question about the red fabric I used in the Sally Post quilt. It is from one of the original Smithsonian reproduction fabric lines. That was from quite a while back.

Love all of your quilts and current projects, you do such beautiful work.
I am working on finishing a large stitchery and I think I will do blocks around it, for a lap quilt, for a start on quilting again.

Millennium Garden is a great primitive style quilt.
