Snow Family Ornament

I spent the afternoon making a tree ornament from Olde Green Cupboard's "Snow Family" pattern.  Made from wool with a piece of an Army blanket for the back section.  The ornament is for an ornament exchange with quilting friends at our holiday gathering.  The only guideline was that it had to be handmade.  It was fun to get back to working with wool.  It has been a while.  I used part of a black snap for each of the buttons on Papa's coat

I want to make one for myself but it probably won't happen  any time soon.

I changed the header picture from turkeys to a section of the alphabet quilt top I made from a Cheri pattern.  I need to dig it out of the quilt top stash and get it quilted.

Enjoy the season!

What a sweet little ornament! I always say I am going to make Christmas ornaments in July for all my friends, but here it is December and not one done! Thanks for sharing this little gem.

The new header and the ornament are both lovely and a great start to enjoying this Christmas season! I'd be tempted to make another ornament too. I haven't played with any wool lately. I hope to get something going with it in the new year.

I love doing little projects and having them finish up quickly. Quilting sees a finish in the so distant future. The little ornament is sweet. The snap backs are perfect.

That came out nicely, great choice of wools. I have a few of those, they are cute designs and one of these days I will make the ones I got.

Very cute ornament. I like the fact that you used an army blanket, and the snap parts as buttons worked well.

Whoever ends up with your ornament is very lucky--it's so cute! And yes, you need to get your Cheri top quilted--it's too fun to be in a closet!

Cute ornament. I love working with wool. It is so forgiving. Love Cheri’s patterns. She left quite a quilting legacy.

Great idea for a homemade gift and so cute too. You sound like me. I'll make it for a function like yours but not necessarily for myself.:)
