Farm House Sampler Block Two

Julie and I agreed before starting "Farm House Sampler" that we would do a block a month and share it on the 15th.  Today is May 15th so it is time for block two.  To refresh your memory, the pattern set is by Dawn Heese of "Linen Closet Designs".

The shapes are large and fairly easy to stitch.  I usually do needleturn applique but on these blocks, I am doing a bit of starched edge prep ahead of time.  I did that for the flower shapes and leaves.  The background alternates between two fabrics.  I will put a picture of last month's block below so you can see the shade difference.  Both are a pale shade of green.

Are you having trouble like me in these trying times sticking to projects already started?  I started a new quilt last evening and have a pattern sitting out for two more!

I'm having the most trouble with hand work, or slow work. The machine has been my friend right now.

Yes! I am totally and completely starting too many projects! lol! I think it's the colors of fabrics and threads....and the zone my brain and heart enter while stitching....it's soooooo peaceful! Thank you for sharing your lovely stitches! Stitch on! :-)

I'm trying to be good and not too many projects. Quilting is not too bad but cross stitch is another story. Ugh!

Yes, I'm feeling the same way. I've started so many things and then as I am working on them start thinking of what else I could be working on. I have the attention span of a gnat and feel so stressed out because of all the piles of ongoing projects I have everywhere.
Your blocks are very nice, BTW!

I'm having a bit of trouble with focus but finally got a bit of quilt mojo back fortunately. I'm getting blocks for a baby quilt sewn together today.

Not much is more exciting than a new project :0) These blocks are beautiful! I’m just too busy to sew much. With 6 people at home all the time there’s just too much to do!

Love that new block--bright and cheerie--
and the block under it is neat also--
as for projects--I am trying to be good--
and work on 'old' ones, ones in progress with online bom's
and wanting to do some new ones!!!
so it is hard some days to decide which one to work on!!!
luv, di

Beautiful block, in fact both of them are pretty terrific. I love the paisley background. How do you like doing the starch method? For me, it makes sewing a breeze but it's a little tedious getting everything starched beforehand. Maybe it just takes practice. What else have you started? I finished up the Flowers quilt. I think my border is a bit dark but it sewed on and it's staying. Now, I'm trying to finish the quilt on the frames that has been neglected. Enjoy your new projects.

A good looking block--two, for that matter.
I am just having a hard time buckling down and stitching, period. But when I can force myself, I have had promised gifts to complete--with more looming.

Getting those edges prepped ahead of time is nice when you sit down to applique. Sometimes it's just hard to get the prep done. Love the simplicity of the designs.

I'm having trouble doing anything at all! Except sleep. I can sleep for hours and hours! LOL I think your wreath looks wonderful. I bought the pattern, based on liking yours and Julie's, and I even bought some fabric to augment what I already had, more in line with your colors than Julie's, though I like hers, too. That's as far as I've gotten in two months.

These are gorgeous. I like Julie's too. I hope to get back to blogging, I've missed so much! I feel like I have been living in a fog!

Very pretty block. It's so hard to stay focused right now.

Always admire the smoothness of your applique and also the color choices...well done!!

Great blocks! I’m having trouble doing anything the past couple of days. Hope I have some energy tomorrow!

Nice blocks. I've been able to finish things, the starting is the problem. Maybe that's a good thing. Since last fall, I've done a test block that became a pillow, and am finishing up one top that I started in March. I'm getting ready for a big start in June, a two + year long project.
